Editor-in-Chief / Co-Founder
Kelly holds a diploma in Applied Communication from Camosun College and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication at Royal Roads University. She has worked for the past six years in project management, marketing, communications, and journalism.
After a two year stint at BC Hydro as an engineering technologist, she returned to the communications world as a marketing coordinator while concurrently freelancing as the Fun City Editor for The Vancouver Observer. She quickly immersed herself into the world of lifestyle writing, covering anything from non-profit fundraisers and charity events, to food and adventure FAM trips all over the Pacific Northwest. Some of her notable achievements include being a culinary judge for Cornucopia, Whistler’s premier food and drink festival, and earning the Regional Media Award from the Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC Branch.
Kelly owes her knack for photojournalism to her parents — her mother went to J-School and her father studied photography — but considers her time as a self-developed columnist/feature writer in her college newspaper as a pivotal phase in her love for literature. When she’s not fixated on words, Kelly can be found hiking in the middle of nowhere, cruising around the city on her bicycle, or drinking craft beer in the local pub with friends.
